David Scott has worked within the security sector for over 15 years now, the first eight of them having been spent ‘on the tools’. Skills for Security works with employers to improve security skills and standards of professionalism by providing access to apprenticeship security training courses and security qualifications for those individuals employed in security roles across the UK.

As managing director at the business, David’s role necessarily covers many aspects, but a keen focus is developing and growing new partnerships and improving the overall quality of education in the sector. Before moving to Skills for Security, David held the post of curriculum and quality manager at New College Lanarkshire, where he worked for over eight years. Indeed, he was instrumental in expanding New College Lanarkshire to become the largest provider of fire and security apprenticeships in the UK.
